Why is it never easy?
this love i bear within like happy lead
brings me such joy and pain in the same moments
my soul tied to yours, bound fast in ways i have not yet felt

and yet i wish you find that light in her
because for you to be dark would be more painful.

ever bound and ever free...this space between as precious as life
I am the quiet alto harmony lifting holding
she the soprano solo that lifts your heart.

I the air, she and you the wings of one bird.
and tho it tastes bittersweet to say the words, i tell you to go

my heart will soar if yours does. even if i am earthbound and shackled
